After Semmering quake, inspectors probe rail lines and mountain roads for hidden damage
One day after a magnitude-4.4 earthquake rattled the Semmering pass, Austrian rail and highway engineers carried out precautionary inspections of tracks, tunnels and slopes. While no major damage has been found, ÖBB imposed a temporary freight speed limit and warned of possible weekend lane closures on the S6, urging logistics operators and holiday traffic to stay updated.
