The Czech Civil Aviation Authority has published a Trigger NOTAM for Vodochody Airport (LKVO) advising operators of a permanent AIP Airac amendment that will take effect on 3 September 2026. The NOTAM, posted on 26 July, alerts pilots and dispatchers that new arrival and departure procedures, obstacle data and ground-handling contact details will be incorporated in AIP amendment 7/26. Vodochody, located 15 kilometres north of downtown Prague, is increasingly popular with corporate shuttle flights when slot restrictions make Vaclav Havel Airport impractical. The September update introduces RNAV SID and STAR procedures compatible with the latest Performance-Based Navigation (PBN) standards, enabling lighter business jets to operate in poorer weather minima and reducing track-miles compared with conventional VOR transitions. Aircraft operators holding blanket landing permits should verify that their navigation databases will refresh before 3 September, as failure to load the new procedures could invalidate insurance cover. Ground handlers have also changed frequency allocations for apron control, with ‘Vodochody Ground’ moving to 121.805 MHz to de-conflict with a new ATIS broadcast. From a mobility standpoint, the upgrade is welcome news for international project teams commuting to the cluster of aerospace and automotive suppliers in the Central Bohemian Region. The improved approach minima are expected to cut weather-related diversions to Brno by up to 40 percent during the autumn fog season.
