Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) and Dublin Bus have published real-time updates via their Twitter (X) feeds and GTFS feeds, but employers with shift workers in Docklands and Sandyford have reported delays of up to 25 minutes during the first evening peak. Multinational firms in the capital’s tech corridor have re-activated flexible-working policies first introduced during Covid-19 to minimise commuter exposure. Why it matters: Ireland’s economy relies heavily on seamless access to and from Dublin Airport for pharmaceutical exports, tech executives and international investors. Even short-lived security cordons can trigger missed connections and additional accommodation costs. Yesterday’s operation demonstrates the tightrope officials must walk between safeguarding dignitaries and preserving Ireland’s reputation for friction-free business travel. Mobility managers should brief travellers on alternative routes, monitor Garda traffic alerts, and remind staff that recreational drone use in central Dublin is effectively off-limits for the next 48 hours.
