Ticket offices, customer-service desks and the Perugia escalator network remain open. Although recent USB actions have drawn low participation (under 10 percent), today’s stoppage coincides with the post-summer business-travel peak and several large trade fairs in Perugia and Assisi. Companies moving staff between railway hubs and out-of-town industrial zones should arrange alternative ground transport—regional rail links are not affected—and allow for heavier traffic on the SS75 and E45 road corridors. The action forms part of a nationwide series of sectoral strikes over pay alignment and staffing levels, culminating in a four-hour air-traffic-control stoppage on 30 September.
