Chongqing Airlines, a subsidiary of China Southern, confirmed on 24 September that it will add or restore ten high-demand routes between 30 September and 8 October, targeting holidaymakers heading to Yunnan and Xinjiang as well as business travellers on the Chongqing–Guangzhou corridor. Tourism-heavy destinations such as Kunming, Lijiang, Xishuangbanna and Dehong (Mangshi) will see additional sections timed around the two outbound peaks—30 September–2 October and 6–8 October—allowing leisure passengers to avoid overnight arrivals. Meanwhile, the airline will raise Chongqing-Guangzhou from eight to eleven daily flights between 1 and 8 October, covering the entire work-week after the festival and catering to manufacturing executives shuttling between the two industrial hubs. The carrier has negotiated temporary slot extensions at Chongqing Jiangbei, including a rare 01:30 departure to Sanya, and will deploy Airbus A321neos on several routes to absorb demand while reducing fuel burn. Free date changes are available for tickets issued before 25 September. For corporate mobility planners, the move provides much-needed seat inventory at a time when fares on trunk routes are trending 15 % higher than in 2025. Travellers connecting onward to Southeast Asia through Guangzhou should note tighter minimum-connection-time limits at the newly refurbished Terminal 3.
