Macau’s Public Security Police Force (PSP) said the city welcomed more than 415,400 visitor arrivals during the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday that ended 27 September. Total inbound and outbound movements across all checkpoints reached 640,626, illustrating the enclave’s continued tourism rebound. The Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge proved the preferred route, with 19,758 arrivals, followed closely by Hengqin Port (18,700), Taipa Ferry Terminal (4,700) and Macau International Airport (7,800). Daily average hotel occupancy exceeded 90 %, according to industry estimates. The figures suggest that leisure and short-break travel from the mainland is accelerating ahead of the week-long National Day holidays. Casino operators and MICE venues can expect higher footfall, though labour shortages in hospitality remain a risk. Travel managers should advise visitors to book accommodation well in advance and consider off-peak ferry sailings to avoid bottlenecks at the bridge and Hengqin crossings.
