Warsaw-Modlin Airport announced that its main runway will close nightly from 23:59 to 06:00 local time between 29 and 30 September for urgent surface repairs. Although the low-cost hub handles mainly Ryanair, business-jet and charter traffic, several late-evening connections to London Stansted, Milan and Dublin have been rescheduled or re-routed to Warsaw Chopin (WAW). The airport authority says passengers booked on 23:00-01:00 departures should contact airlines for updated transport arrangements; coaches will shuttle affected travellers between the two airports. Ground-handling provider LS Airport Services has issued NOTAM EPWA D0156/26 advising carriers to file flight plans accordingly. For multinational firms relying on Modlin’s budget routes to move mobile staff, the closure means potential overnight stays or earlier departures on 29 September. Travel-managers are urged to update duty-of-care tracking systems, as rail links from Modlin to Warsaw city centre will not operate after midnight due to concurrent maintenance on the Masovian Rail line. Cargo operators shipping high-value temperature-controlled goods should note that Modlin’s temporary cold-chain facility will be offline; time-sensitive freight should be routed to WAW or Łódź. The works are part of a PLN 40 million modernisation funded by the state infrastructure programme to prepare the airport for the 2027 ETIAS rollout, when passenger pre-clearance areas will be expanded.
