Average length of stay is trending at two nights, but upscale properties in Tsim Sha Tsui and Central are seeing a higher share of three-night bookings, indicating that more travellers plan to watch the October 1 fireworks and then embark on shopping or business side-trips. Hoteliers have responded by bundling room deals with late checkout and ferry tickets to Macao, hoping to capture spill-over traffic. Restaurant groups expect HK$3 billion (US$384 million) in takings between Mid-Autumn and the end of golden week, led by Chinese banquet venues anticipating a 10-15 % lift. Intercity coach operators have shortened headways to as little as five minutes to move guests from Shenzhen Bay and Lok Ma Chau directly to hotel districts. From a mobility-management angle, employers should anticipate tight room supply for relocating staff and consider serviced apartments or Kowloon East hotels as alternatives. Travel-risk teams are also flagging potential late-night transport constraints on October 1 owing to temporary road closures for fireworks, advising staff to pre-book transfers.
