UAE aviation continues to operate despite the 220-day-old US–Iran conflict that has closed swathes of regional airspace and pushed some foreign carriers to suspend Dubai services until at least 24 October 2026. According to Gulf News, Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia have maintained the vast majority of their schedules, adding up to 120 minutes of extra flight time on certain long-haul routes to skirt restricted corridors. European airlines including Air France, KLM, SWISS and ITA Airways have extended their Dubai suspensions, while Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian are planning phased restarts from late October. Longer routings are inflating fuel costs and forcing logistics managers to adjust crew-duty calculations and contingency buffers for freight delivery. Travel managers are advising executives to allow an additional half-day on Europe–Asia itineraries that connect in Dubai. Despite the regional volatility, UAE authorities have issued no domestic security alerts. Nevertheless, corporate security teams are urged to monitor airline updates and maintain traveller tracking, as sudden route closures remain possible. Maritime-insurance premiums for Strait of Hormuz transits have also risen, a knock-on effect for firms that combine air and sea logistics hubs in the Emirates.
