Several Indian missions abroad, including Manila and Accra, confirmed on 8 October 2026 that the ‘Official App – Indian Visa Su-Swagatam’ has been upgraded to integrate the mandatory e-Arrival Card and new e-FRRO services. The refreshed version lets foreign nationals complete the arrival card up to 72 hours before landing, receive a QR code for faster immigration processing and subsequently apply for visa extensions, residence permits or exit permits—all within the same interface. Previously, travellers had to visit two separate portals (indianvisaonline.gov.in and e-FRRO) after arrival. The app now supports digital payments via UPI and 17 international card networks, reducing the need for cash at FRRO offices. Push-notification reminders alert users 30, 15 and 5 days before visa expiry. A pilot feedback module encourages users to rate airport immigration counters, data the Ministry of Home Affairs says will feed into KPI dashboards. For mobility managers, the consolidated platform means fewer touchpoints and reduced risk of missed compliance deadlines for expatriate assignees. Companies should update arrival-checklists and ensure travellers download the latest build (v 2.2.9) from official stores, not third-party APK sites prone to phishing. The upgrade aligns with India’s digital-public-infrastructure push and is expected to dovetail with the forthcoming Trusted Traveller e-gate expansion announced earlier this year.
