Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has updated its travel advice for 13 countries this week, adding an election-related alert for Brazil, new visa-information links for India and health-requirement tweaks for Gabon and Uganda. The advisory roundup was published on 9 October by Travel Extra. Of particular interest to mobility planners is the clarification on India’s e-visa process, now linked directly from the Entry Requirements tab, and confirmation that Azerbaijan’s F1 motorsport alert has been lifted—useful for project teams attending next month’s Grand Prix in Baku. The DFA note also reiterates that, from 28 September, all ferry passengers between Ireland and Wales must hold a passport (or Irish passport card) and, for non-Irish travellers, a UK Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) if otherwise required. Irish citizens remain exempt but should carry proof of nationality to avoid confusion at ports. Companies operating global mobility programmes should embed the new advice into pre-travel briefings and update risk-management platforms. Failure to follow country-specific vaccination or visa rules can delay assignments and invalidate business-travel insurance. The DFA refresh comes as international risk ratings fluctuate ahead of several national elections and heightened geopolitical tensions. Regular monitoring of dfa.ie feeds is therefore recommended for all outbound Irish travellers.
