For corporate-travel programmes the data point to tightening hotel inventory through August. Average daily rates for four-star properties in Tsim Sha Tsui climbed 11 percent year-on-year in May, according to STR Global, and several harbour-front venues have introduced dynamic pricing tied to mega-events such as the World Dragon Boat Carnival. Mobility managers moving staff in for summer projects should lock in accommodation early and brief travellers on city-wide e-payment promotions, which can shave 10-15 percent off incidental spend when using AlipayHK-linked cards. The surge in over-night visitors also means earlier congestion at immigration halls; e-Channel pre-enrolment for frequent business travellers is advisable.
