Travel-tech start-up Atlys has inaugurated its first bricks-and-mortar ‘Global Experience Centre’ in Dubai’s BurJuman Mall, betting that travellers want hybrid support as they file visas for an increasing number of short, event-centric journeys. Founder Mohak Nahta told Khaleej Times that UAE customers are now taking multiple mini-vacations tied to spectacles such as Japan’s cherry-blossom season or Oktoberfest, driving an 11-fold jump in visa volumes since 2024. Atlys’ AI engine pre-screens documents, predicts approval timelines and pushes real-time status alerts, while humans handle complex cases. The Dubai storefront offers biometric capture, document scans and travel advice in person, then routes applications through the app for submission. For corporate mobility teams, physical presence in the UAE could mean faster turnarounds for Schengen and UK visas, reducing project-deployment lead times during Europe’s congested summer season.
