Dubai-based carrier Emirates has unveiled a student travel promotion that offers fare reductions of up to 10 percent in Economy Class and 5 percent in Premium Economy or Business, plus an extra 10 kg baggage allowance (or one additional piece on piece-concept routes). The deal applies to outbound tickets booked in the UAE between now and 31 March 2027 using the promo code STUDENT and is valid for passengers aged 16-31 holding a school acceptance letter or student ID. Although framed as a consumer offer, the campaign has clear mobility overtones. Universities in North America, Europe and Australasia report a surge in Gulf-based enrolments, and corporate graduate programmes in the UAE increasingly fly interns to overseas rotations. The discounted fares and higher baggage limit lower relocation costs, making Emirates an attractive partner for HR travel desks and relocation vendors. The airline is coupling the offer with flexible date-change rules—vital for students awaiting visa approvals—and is marketing the discount through Dubai International Airport’s counters and campus roadshows. In parallel, Emirates has expanded its ‘pay with crypto’ option after securing a stored-value licence from the UAE Central Bank, giving tech-savvy travellers another payment channel. Travel-programme managers should update their booking tools to include the promo code and remind travellers that proof of student status will be checked at DXB. For multi-sector tickets, the extra allowance applies to the entire journey if Emirates operates all legs; interline segments may revert to standard limits. The promotion runs through the end of the academic year 2026-27, capturing both autumn and spring intakes. Observers say the move strengthens Emirates’ bid to lock in brand loyalty early and could prompt rivals Etihad and Qatar Airways to roll out similar perks.
