Outbound traffic delays on the same corridor are comparatively minor at 1 hour 15 minutes, but long inbound holds are rippling through supply chains that rely on the E30 motorway for east-west freight. The bottleneck coincides with an uptick in agricultural exports from Belarus ahead of the EU harvest season and with ongoing Polish veterinary inspections on livestock transports. Drivers report limited parking, shortages of rest-area facilities and extended mandatory rest breaks that further delay arrivals. Companies employing just-in-time logistics need to reroute via the Terespol or Kuźnica crossings where delays were reported at a more manageable 2–12 hours. Forwarders should also explore rail options via Małaszewicze, although capacity is increasingly tight. Poland’s Border Guard attributes the spike to a combination of documentation errors on veterinary certificates and increased security screening following August’s extension of the 200-metre buffer zone along sensitive border sections. The agency has deployed additional officers but warns that processing times will remain high through late September. Mobility planners moving high-value goods or critical components should build multi-day buffers into delivery schedules or shift shipments to maritime routes via Gdańsk until the backlog eases.
