Travel risk consultants are urging companies to verify onward travel—especially international connections—before employees leave for the airport. Practical advice: 1) Proactively monitor flight status rather than relying on automated push alerts, which can lag during nationwide events; 2) Allow extra lay-over buffers when booking trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific itineraries this week; and 3) Remind travelers that U.S. carriers will generally waive change fees only once per irregular-operations event, so further self-changes can trigger fare differentials.
