Poland Extends CHARLIE and BRAVO Security Alert Levels, Keeping Heightened Controls Through November
The Polish government’s daily situation bulletin, released by the Government Security Centre (RCB) on 7 October 2026, confirms that Prime Minister Donald Tusk has extended the CHARLIE (level 3) and BRAVO (level 2) alert states until 30 November 2026. The orders, first issued in August, apply nationwide, with the CHARLIE level specifically covering strategic rail corridors run by PKP PLK and the broad-gauge Linia Hutnicza Szerokotorowa. While the alerts are primarily counter-terrorism measures, they empower authorities to carry out random ID checks, restrict access to certain infrastructure and increase patrols at airports, rail hubs and border crossings. For mobility managers this means travellers may encounter more uniformed presence and occasional baggage inspections, especially on overnight trains connecting Warsaw with Berlin, Vilnius and Lviv. The BRAVO-CRP cyber-security alert, also prolonged, obliges critical-infrastructure operators to apply heightened monitoring of IT networks. Companies running travel-booking or crew-rotation software through Polish data centres should ensure incident-response plans are up to date and staff can log multi-factor authentication while on assignment abroad. Although no specific travel restrictions accompany the extension, the Interior Ministry advises corporate security departments to keep registers of employee locations and to remind staff to carry a physical ID at all times. Event organisers expecting large numbers of foreign delegates in Poland before December may need to submit security plans earlier than usual.
