High-speed operator Eurostar has alerted passengers that engineering works on the French rail network could delay selected international services by up to 20 minutes each day from 8 to 18 October 2026. In a notice published on 8 October, the company said the works would affect portions of the line between Lille and Paris as well as approach tracks to the Channel Tunnel. While the potential delay is relatively small, the window coincides with the run-up to France’s autumn school break, traditionally a peak period for business travel to London, Brussels and Amsterdam. Eurostar advises passengers to arrive at their departure station at the normal check-in time, stressing that trains listed as “at-risk” may still operate punctually. Customers will receive real-time updates via the app and station displays. Travel-management companies say even minor timetable slips can cascade into missed flight connections at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle or Brussels Airport. Corporations with tight same-day meeting schedules should build in extra buffer time and verify ticket change rules, especially for non-flex fares. Mobility professionals should also note separate cabin-crew and air-traffic-control strikes slated for mid-October. Taken together, the rail works and possible strike action could create a multi-modal bottleneck on key France–UK routes, reinforcing the value of contingency planning and remote-meeting options.
