The High Commission of India in Singapore updated its consular notice on 14 October 2026 confirming that all three tiers of India’s e-Tourist Visa—30-day, 1-year and 5-year—are now re-activated for nationals of 156 countries. The last remaining pandemic-linked restrictions were lifted following a Home Ministry directive that came into force at midnight IST. Under the revised regime, applicants may again choose between a one-month, double-entry visa (US $25, reduced to US $10 during April–June low season), a one-year multiple-entry visa (US $40) or a five-year multiple-entry visa (US $80). Applications must be filed via the sole official portal indianvisaonline.gov.in; missions reiterated that no third-party website is authorised to process payments. The restoration is a windfall for Indian inbound MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) operators who rely on multi-entry visas for repeat corporate travellers. It also simplifies life for global-mobility teams shuttling staff to India for project kick-offs, as five-year visas cover multiple short-term assignments without repeated consular visits. Travellers should note that the 90-day cap on continuous stay per visit remains, and e-Visas cannot be extended or converted in-country except under emergency provisions. Airlines must verify Electronic Travel Authorisations (ETAs) prior to boarding; carriers that lift the wrong passenger risk fines under India’s Aircraft Rules. Organisations are therefore advised to refresh employee travel-checklists and budget for the restored, albeit higher, five-year fee.
