The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) conducted its first Expression-of-Interest draw of the month on 9 April 2026, with the results released on 11 April. Thirty-two skilled-worker candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) across two pathways—Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas—most of whom were invited through the Employer Services recruitment initiative. Although modest in size, the draw continues Manitoba’s strategy of issuing smaller, targeted invitation rounds that zero in on employer-driven talent pipelines and francophone communities. Eight invitees held an active Express Entry profile, allowing them to claim a 600-point boost once they secure the provincial nomination—effectively guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply for permanent residence when IRCC runs its next PNP-only federal draw. With unemployment below the national average and an ageing workforce, Manitoba relies heavily on strategic recruitment missions and exploratory visits to connect foreign talent with in-province employers and communities. The province has now issued 281 LAAs in 2026, pacing slightly behind last year but signalling continued demand in manufacturing, healthcare and francophone services outside Winnipeg. Employers that missed out this round can register for upcoming overseas fairs or ask eligible candidates to update their Expression-of-Interest with accurate test scores and invitation codes—common pitfalls that, according to MPNP, explain many missed invitations. For global mobility managers, Manitoba remains an attractive landing spot: processing times for provincial nominations average six months, and the province offers settlement grants that cover language training and credential recognition.
