Global Entry Interview Backlog Persists: 27 Enrollment Centers Show No Slots Within Two Months
Travel-tech platform Haya reports that as of mid-June 2026, 20 of the 123 Global Entry enrollment centers list zero available appointments and another seven have nothing open for at least 60 days. The data were published June 12 in a guide aimed at conditionally approved applicants. While Enrollment-on-Arrival has absorbed some pent-up demand, capacity constraints at major hubs such as JFK, LAX and IAH mean many travelers wait a year or more for stand-alone interviews. Haya’s scraping of the CBP scheduler shows that cancellation slots appear daily but are usually claimed within minutes, fueling a cottage industry of alert services. For corporate mobility teams the backlog complicates efforts to enrol frequent travelers ahead of the 2027 biometric-exit mandate, as Global Entry membership automatically activates TSA PreCheck and Mobile Passport benefits. Companies may need to route staff through airports offering Enrollment-on-Arrival or budget for alert subscriptions to secure earlier appointments. CBP says it is hiring additional officers using new funding from the Secure America Act, but warns that security vetting still takes 12–24 months for some applicants. Travelers should not book non-refundable flights solely to obtain an interview slot and must complete enrollment within two years of conditional approval or start over.
