Applicants with paperwork expiring in that period must either file before 9 August or wait until reopening, risking overstay penalties. Corporate mobility managers with staff in Tuscany should bring appointments forward, use the online kit via Poste Italiane where eligible, or transfer applications to adjacent prefectures (e.g., Prato) that remain open. Relocation consultants report that biometric slots for early August are already scarce; urgent cases may require the payment of expedited-processing fees under the ‘motivi di urgenza’ category. The municipality says emergency humanitarian requests will still be handled by email, but routine information lines will be unmanned. Companies should alert travellers of possible delays in obtaining tax codes (codice fiscale) and local health-service enrolment, both of which hinge on proof of permit submission.
