Travel platform Wego updated its live strike calendar on 1 October, confirming that several Spanish aviation disputes will continue under fresh minimum-service mandates issued by the Transport Ministry. The orders, effective 1 October–30 November, cover: • Saerco-managed control towers at Seville, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, Vigo, Jerez, A Coruña, El Hierro and Madrid-Cuatro Vientos, where union USCA and CCOO are staging an indefinite walkout. • Groundforce baggage-handling staff at Barcelona-El Prat, on continuous strike. • Outsmart Assistance technicians on the automated baggage system at Madrid-Barajas, protesting rosters. The Ministry requires 70-80 % of scheduled services to operate, but passengers are already seeing early-morning and lunchtime disruptions, especially at the Canary Islands tourist gateways. Airlines must notify cancellations at least 24 hours in advance or face compensation claims under EU261. For corporate mobility managers, the rolling actions threaten project deadlines and assignment kick-offs tied to Spain’s October trade-fair season. Advisers recommend routing critical staff through Bilbao, Malaga or Valencia, whose towers are not affected, and avoiding connection windows shorter than three hours. Employers with posted workers should retain boarding passes and incident reports to support duty-of-care audits. Labour mediators will reconvene on 14 October, but unions say talks are deadlocked over staffing ratios and automation safeguards. If no agreement is reached, a full-scale escalation during the Christmas peak cannot be ruled out.
