Airport operator Aena expects Ibiza Airport to handle 1 136 flight movements between Friday 9 October and the Día del Pilar public holiday on Monday 12 October—4.2 % fewer than the same long weekend last year. Friday will be the peak day with 298 operations, followed closely by Saturday and Sunday at 282 each. The decline is modest but notable given Ibiza’s heavy reliance on late-season traffic tied to the closing parties of its world-famous clubs. Aena attributes the dip partly to the 2025 holiday having fallen on a Sunday, artificially inflating last year’s comparative base. For airlines, reduced slots may ease congestion at peak hours but also signal tighter load factors on outbound services to European hubs. Hotels and car-rental firms could see marginally lower occupancy and inventory utilisation. Employers sending assignees or incentive groups to the Balearics over the long weekend should book early, as remaining flights continue to trade at a premium. In the broader Spanish context, Balearic airports are forecast to handle more than 5 000 flights during the holiday period, down 2.3 % year-on-year, suggesting a plateau after two years of post-pandemic rebound. Mobility planners should watch whether industrial action at Barcelona and Madrid propagates into knock-on delays for aircraft repositioning into Ibiza.
