New 24-month short-time-work ceiling enters into force, giving multinationals more flexibility
Businesses can now keep staff on subsidised reduced hours for 24 months instead of 18. The measure, effective 1 November 2025, particularly benefits export-driven sectors that employ many foreign nationals and posted workers, helping companies avoid layoffs and rushed repatriations.
