Under the provisional plan, sections of Runway 22/04 will be unavailable between 22:00 and 05:00 local time on selected weekdays, potentially affecting overnight cargo rotations and late-evening passenger departures to the Gulf. Charter operators moving corporate groups or time-sensitive freight—such as semiconductor components produced in Limassol’s industrial zone—should liaise with slot coordinators well in advance to secure alternative timings. The Department of Civil Aviation says the works will upgrade runway lighting to LED standards and install new surface-water drainage, part of a broader €24 million infrastructure modernisation financed through EU COVID-recovery funds. Similar upgrades at Paphos airport in early 2025 reduced taxi-out times by 12 percent, according to Eurocontrol data. Travel-management companies may need to re-route overnight connections through Athens or Istanbul on affected dates. Employers with private-jet programmes should check whether apron parking or diversion arrangements to Paphos incur extra handling fees and update policy guidance for executives accordingly.
