Travel insurance covering emergency evacuation is “strongly recommended.” For corporate travel managers the key change is procedural: airlines have been asked to double-check that passengers staying more than five days carry a consular visa and proof of medical insurance translated into Russian or Belarusian. Failure to comply can lead to denied boarding or fines on the carrier. Multinationals with staff based in Poland or the Baltic states should note that overland entry remains possible but may be subject to sudden closures, affecting cross-border commuters. Employers are advised to keep contingency plans and remote-working options on standby.
