The Czech Embassy in Doha has moved the registration date for long-term (over-90-day) visas for seasonal employment to Monday, 25 July 2026, the mission announced in an update published on 22 July. Prospective applicants must email their appointment request between 11:00 and 17:00 local time on that day; requests sent outside the six-hour window will be rejected. The change affects workers from Qatar and other countries under the embassy’s jurisdiction who plan to take up short-term seasonal jobs in the Czech Republic between August and October 2026—typically in agriculture, food processing, hospitality and manufacturing. The embassy emphasises that it will no longer accept registrations for Employee-Card (long-term work-permit) applications from non-Qatari nationals after a government decision set the quota at zero from 1 July 2026. For Czech employers that rely on Gulf-region labour during peak periods, the compressed registration window means HR teams must prepare documentation (labour contracts, accommodation proof and travel insurance) well in advance and coach candidates on the strict email-submission protocol. Missing the slot could delay mobilisation until the next quota opens, potentially leaving harvests or tourist-season staffing plans short-handed. The update also underlines the Czech government’s increasingly granular management of labour-migration channels. Seasonal-employment visas are capped by embassy-level quotas that reflect domestic labour-market needs and consular capacity. While the digital-nomad and highly-qualified-worker programmes continue to expand, entry routes for lower-skilled roles are being tightly rationed and re-timed. Mobility managers should circulate the new Doha timetable to suppliers and workforce-planning teams immediately, ensure all supporting documents meet Czech interior-ministry requirements, and consider staggering start dates to cushion against embassy bottlenecks. Applicants who miss the 25 July window may need to reroute through other Czech embassies if eligible, or defer deployment until the winter quota opens.
