The notice matters to the roughly 100,000 Canadian business and leisure visitors who enter Poland each year, many via connecting flights or rail from Berlin. Carriers running coach tours and MICE events have already reported instances where passengers without passports were denied boarding on German-origin trains bound for Warsaw. Employers sending staff from Canada or Western Europe should therefore ensure travellers carry a passport, not just a national ID, and build extra time into itineraries that involve overland segments. Mobility teams should also watch for cascading effects on neighbouring Czech and Slovak routes, as operators may reroute services to avoid German-Polish crossings during peak hours.
