U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Tuesday retired its legacy Global Entry mobile application and the separate Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) app, rolling both into a new, single “Trusted Traveler” app available on iOS and Android. The change, announced in a CBP help-center advisory and first reported by Upgraded Points, went live on September 15. The consolidated app serves Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI and FAST members, preserving existing login credentials and profile data. Travelers who previously used the Global Entry app for mobile arrivals must download the new platform before their next international trip; CBP recommends not deleting the old app until successful sign-in is confirmed. For business travelers, the move simplifies account management and reduces confusion at automated passport-control kiosks, especially for executives who hold multiple TTP memberships. The new app also deep-links to application and renewal portals, potentially shortening enrollment cycles—critical as companies on-board record numbers of international assignees ahead of 2026 holiday travel. CBP cautions users to download only from official App Store and Google Play links to avoid look-alike phishing apps that historically emerge during federal IT roll-outs. Mobility managers should circulate those links company-wide and verify that travel-risk tools flag any outdated Global Entry installs. The upgrade is part of CBP’s broader “Biometric Pathway” strategy, which aims to shift 80 percent of trusted-traveler arrivals to mobile or facial-recognition kiosks by FY 2028, cutting average primary-inspection times by up to 45 percent.
