The company cites “operational constraints” linked to staff redeployment and advises travellers to collect their documents either before 17:00 on 24 September or from 09:00 on Monday 28 September. The closure affects business travellers and students waiting for visas that have already been approved. While biometrics appointments and document submissions will continue as scheduled, the inability to retrieve passports could force last-minute trip cancellations. Airlines are unlikely to accept proof-of-issuance print-outs in lieu of an endorsed passport, so mobility managers should verify that employees have their documents in hand before booking non-refundable tickets. TLScontact says emergency travel can be accommodated “case-by-case” but only with written authorisation from the French consulate, which operates limited public hours. Applicants using premium courier return services are not impacted, as logistics partners will store passports until the next business day. The incident is a reminder that third-party visa centres, often viewed as administrative backstops, can still be single points of failure. Multinational companies should record cut-off times for each location and build at least a three-business-day cushion between expected passport pick-up and departure dates.
