EU Energy Ministers descend on Dublin; Garda security plan triggers rolling road closures and drone bans

The event offered a dry-run for larger ministerial “informals” scheduled for October and November. Garda officials confirmed that similar security cordons will be activated, and advised businesses to monitor @gardatraffic on X for hour-by-hour updates. Drone operators—including construction firms surveying sites along the Liffey—must check the IAA map daily, as TRAs can be issued at short notice, with breach penalties including equipment seizure. While disruption was contained, the presidency calendar means Dublin faces intermittent but regular mobility pinch-points through December. Companies should incorporate these into travel-risk assessments and consider flexible working for city-centre staff during high-security days.
