Czechia’s tourism authorities scored a coup this morning as Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways confirmed it will extend its popular summer service to Václav Havel Airport Prague into the Northern-winter timetable for the first time. In a ceremony held on 14 October 2026 at Kuwait City’s Czech Embassy, CzechTourism officials and airline executives announced twice-weekly direct flights running from 17 December 2026 through 7 February 2027. The A320neo service will operate every Monday and Friday, timed to coincide with Kuwaiti school holidays and Europe’s festive high-season. The move is strategically significant for Czech inbound travel. Kuwait has been one of the fastest-growing Gulf outbound markets, but Prague has traditionally relied on summer charter traffic. A scheduled winter link opens the door for repeat leisure visitors, VFR (visiting-friends-and-relatives) trips from the local Kuwaiti student community, and—crucially for business mobility—year-round connectivity for the sizeable Czech engineering and healthcare suppliers active in the Gulf. For multinationals with operations in both markets, the new rotation cuts journey times by up to six hours compared with one-stop itineraries via Istanbul or Doha. Jazeera’s interline agreements with Lufthansa Group carriers will also provide through-ticketing to Brno and Ostrava, smoothing travel for regional assignees. Czech companies planning incentive travel can now block-book winter seats at a promotional launch fare starting at 179 KWD (about €530) return. Operationally, Prague Airport continues to prepare for the 2025-mandated EU Entry/Exit System (EES). Airport authorities say the extra Gulf traffic has been factored into their new biometric e-gate layout at Terminal 1; trial runs with Jazeera crews will begin in late November. Travel-management companies are advising corporate travellers to pre-enrol fingerprints to avoid holiday bottlenecks. Industry analysts note that Jazeera’s announcement is part of a broader push into Central Europe, with Kraków also joining the winter map. If load factors exceed 75 %, the carrier has signalled an interest in upgrading the Prague route to a year-round schedule from S-24, adding welcome competition to Emirates’ codeshare via Dubai and to Turkish Airlines’ extensive network via Istanbul.
