The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) released results on 15 October 2026 for an occupation-targeted invitation round held 8 October. A total of at least 284 invitations went to candidates in four priority streams: early-childhood educators (86 invites, minimum score 99), health-care occupations (82 invites, score 76), construction trades (115 invites, score 94) and veterinary technicians (fewer than 5 invites, score 86). The draw forms part of B.C.’s “care, build and innovate” framework that channels nominations toward sectors facing serious skills shortages. While the number of construction invitations rose compared with September, health-care and child-care invitations dipped—an indication that the province is calibrating selection volumes against real-time registration-pool data. For employers, the targeted approach offers a faster provincial route for workers whose CRS scores fall short of federal Express Entry cut-offs. Successful nominees receive 600 Express Entry points, virtually guaranteeing selection in a subsequent federal draw, or may pursue a paper-based permanent-residence application. Candidates should note that many priority occupations require provincial licences—ECE registry certificates for early-childhood educators and SkilledTradesBC certification for several trades—before they can receive an invitation. Employers are urged to support credentialing early in the recruitment process to prevent delays.
