The Province of New Brunswick released consolidated results on 26 September showing that 678 foreign workers received invitations between 10 August and 18 September through the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP). Although the selections took place earlier in the month, the official tally and occupational breakdown were only published yesterday. Invitations targeted health-care, technology and skilled-trades occupations, aligning with the province’s labour-market priorities. The bulk—610 invitations—went to NBPNP streams, while 68 were issued under AIP employer endorsements. Minimum scores ranged from 60 to 72, depending on stream and occupation. New Brunswick continues to rely heavily on provincial immigration to offset demographic decline and fill persistent vacancies in rural regions. Provincial officials emphasised that employers must first demonstrate sincere local-recruitment efforts before tapping immigration pathways, but noted that processing under NBPNP continues to average three to four months once a complete application is submitted. For mobility managers, the announcement confirms that smaller provinces remain aggressive recruiters of internationally mobile talent. Companies with facilities in New Brunswick should explore nominee streams for nurses, software developers and industrial trades where local hiring remains challenging.
