UAE-headquartered low-cost carrier Air Arabia has axed flights from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi to Malé, Baku, Kuwait, Doha and several South-Asian cities, according to a 23 October advisory compiled by Dubai-based travel platform Trip Station. The cuts come on top of the airline’s earlier Saudi suspensions and reflect restricted overflight routings as well as muted demand. Trip Station’s log shows 12 separate updates in the past 48 hours as crew rotation and insurance considerations force last-minute schedule changes. Gulf News data quoted in the bulletin indicate that Sharjah-Bahrain, Sharjah-Beirut and Abu Dhabi-Multan are among the latest routes dropped, leaving passengers scrambling for alternatives via Dubai International. Meanwhile Etihad published a network notice on 22 October extending cancellations on Abu Dhabi–Riyadh and Abu Dhabi–Dammam until the early-morning departure wave of 6 November, and trimming night-time Jeddah frequencies. The flag-carrier is offering re-routing or full refunds under its Schedule Change Policy, but corporate travel managers note that premium-cabin availability on remaining services is already tight. For businesses, the twin announcements mean reduced seat inventory across key short-haul markets and longer travel times via road or alternative hubs. Mobility teams are advised to audit upcoming projects that rely on Air Arabia’s budget network and to pre-approve higher-fare options where operationally critical staff must travel.
