After almost a year on the sidelines, British Airways (BA) has confirmed that it will restart passenger flights between London-Heathrow and Dubai on 3 November. The service will relaunch with one daily rotation before scaling up to twice-daily frequencies later in the winter schedule. BA suspended its UAE flights in October 2025 as regional security risks escalated, forcing many European carriers to reroute or ground aircraft bound for the Gulf. The return of the UK flag-carrier restores a key corporate and leisure artery between two of the world’s busiest long-haul airports and provides an additional oneworld option alongside partner Qatar Airways’ Doha hub. For multinational firms with headquarters split between London’s financial district and Dubai’s IFC, the reinstated link means shorter connection times and the revival of joint-corporate deals that had lapsed during the pause. Freight forwarders also welcome the belly-hold capacity—each BA 777 flight adds roughly 20 tonnes of eastbound cargo space at a time when air-freight rates remain elevated. The airline said it would continue to monitor geopolitical developments and maintain “flexible” rebooking policies should conditions deteriorate again. Travel managers should note that BA’s Dubai flights will initially operate overnight from Heathrow, enabling same-day onward connections to Europe and North America but requiring HR teams to plan for employee rest periods on arrival. With Emirates operating six daily A380s to London and Virgin Atlantic still on hiatus, competition on the city-pair will tighten. Fare analysts expect introductory BA economy return tickets to price around £620, with Club World business returns just over £3,000—roughly 15 % below Emirates’ current lead-in, but subject to demand swings as the route beds back in.
