Travel giant TUI Group will deepen its Spanish network next year by inaugurating three new services from London Gatwick to Santiago de Compostela, Seville and Valencia. The expansion, published by Spain Travel News late on 15 October, forms part of an eight-route surge that will make Gatwick the airline’s fastest-growing base. For Galicia, Andalucía and the Valencia region, the flights promise fresh access to high-spending UK visitors and mobile professionals who had few nonstop options outside peak holiday seasons. TUI says capacity across the trio represents 4.6 % of the group’s enlarged 17 million-seat European programme for 2027, signalling confidence in secondary Spanish cities as year-round destinations for bleisure and conference traffic. Local chambers of commerce predict an uptick in British investment missions as a result. Seville’s Cartuja science park notes that UK enquiries already account for 12 % of foreign leads; nonstop flights could shorten trip-planning lead-times and cut carbon footprints versus Madrid connections. Galicia’s tourism board, meanwhile, is positioning Santiago as a digital-nomad base under Spain’s new remote-worker visa and sees the route supporting medium-term stays. For mobility managers, the routes allow one-stop itineraries from northern England and Scotland via Gatwick and broaden negotiated-fare leverage with TUI Aviation, whose corporate-sales arm can allocate group seating on charter-plus-scheduled hybrids. Travellers should note that all three flights will be operated by narrow-body Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft with a single-class layout.
