National carrier ITA Airways has opened ticket sales for Public Service Obligation flights linking Alghero (Sardinia) with Milan Linate from 25 October 2026 through 31 January 2027. The announcement, published on the airline’s ‘current information’ portal on 19 October, follows the award of a subsidised route contract aimed at maintaining year-round connectivity for island residents and business travellers. Initially, tickets are available through the Customer Information and Assistance Office and authorised travel agencies; website sales will follow once booking systems are updated. The PSO design caps one-way fares at €55 in off-peak and €125 in peak periods for Sardinian residents, while non-resident travellers—typically consultants servicing the region’s growing renewable-energy sector—benefit from additional seat inventory during weekdays. The route replaces services dropped by low-cost competitors after rising fuel costs and airport charges. For corporate mobility planners the reinstated link restores a same-day return option between Sardinia’s northwest and Italy’s financial capital, shaving at least four hours off the alternative via Cagliari or Olbia plus rail. In the same bulletin the carrier confirmed the ongoing suspension of Riyadh and Dubai services until mid-November and reminded passengers from Ebola-affected regions of additional health-declaration requirements, signalling that compliance paperwork remains a moving target for global itineraries involving Italy. Travel buyers should update booking tools to reflect the PSO fare codes (class T) and review change-fee policies, which differ from standard ITA tariffs because the Sardinian regional government underwrites part of the cost.
