The latest Home Office register of licensed sponsors, released on 30 October 2026, reveals that 62 organisations were added while 71 were removed, producing a net decline of nine. Data aggregated by the independent tracker MyVisaJobs now puts the total number of active sponsors at 127,850, with 93 holding a Scale-up licence. Although monthly figures still show overall growth for October (+148 licences), the daily reversal highlights the Home Office’s ongoing compliance activity. Sponsors can drop off the list for voluntary surrender, licence expiry, or revocation following compliance breaches such as inadequate right-to-work checks or failure to report migrant-worker changes. For HR and mobility teams the release is a reminder that an employee’s immigration status hinges on the health of the sponsor licence. If a licence is revoked, affected Skilled Workers typically have 60 days to find a new sponsor, switch route or leave the UK. Companies planning transfers should therefore verify that potential host entities remain on the register on the date the Certificate of Sponsorship is assigned. The live tracker also shows regional and sectoral churn: hospitality and care providers account for many removals, whereas tech consultancies and niche manufacturers feature prominently among additions. Organisations considering applying for a licence should note that processing times remain 8–10 weeks for standard applications, with a limited priority service available at additional cost. Experts expect more volatility in the register as new compliance rules—introduced on 8 October and 29 October 2026 under Statement of Changes HC 584—bed in. Sponsors are advised to run internal audits, refresh key-personnel training and keep contact details current to avoid inadvertent non-compliance.
