Nine Foreigners Detained in Bydgoszcz Logistic Hub for Visa and Work-Permit Violations

A workplace inspection at a courier-company warehouse in Bydgoszcz on 7 July ended with nine arrests, the Border Guard confirmed on 9 July. Six Colombians, one Cuban, an Indian and a Ukrainian were found working without permits and lacking sufficient funds for their stated stay. Seven received voluntary-return orders with six-month Schengen re-entry bans; the Ukrainian, judged a public-order threat after completing a prison sentence, was forcibly removed with a five-year ban. The Indian national, found at the local voivodeship office trying to legalise status retrospectively, was also ordered to leave. The courier firm faces an administrative probe and could be fined up to PLN 100 000 for negligent hiring.
