The National Border Guard Headquarters reported on 14 July 2026 that the District Court for Warsaw-Wola has fined a Warsaw-based labour broker PLN 15,000 (≈ €3,300) for unlawfully supplying five Indonesian nationals to an orchard in the Łódź region. A routine workplace inspection in September 2025 found the pickers had no work permits, social-security coverage or valid visa endorsements. Investigators traced the recruitment chain to the broker, who had registered a one-man consultancy to bypass temporary-work-agency licensing rules. Under Poland’s 2025 Act on the Conditions for Employing Foreigners, knowingly outsourcing staff without the proper authorisations carries fines of up to PLN 30,000 per worker and potential criminal liability. The court cited mitigating circumstances – the broker’s clean record and cooperation – in imposing a single aggregated penalty. The Indonesian workers have been issued return orders; one, who overstayed his visa, also received a six-month Schengen re-entry ban. For agribusinesses and staffing firms the verdict is a reminder that labour inspections now extend well into Poland’s rural heartlands and can trigger parallel tax and social-security audits. Companies bringing seasonal or project-based staff to Poland should audit supply chains, verify subcontractors’ licences and keep hard copies of labour-market-test exemptions, A1 certificates and Polish-language employment contracts on site.
