Construction of the new Huanggang Port joint-inspection complex—one of the world’s largest land boundary hubs—has reached its final stage, Xinhua reported on 25 July. Design capacity is 200,000 passengers per day, with peak throughput projected at 300,000—roughly equal to Hong Kong International Airport’s pre-pandemic daily footfall. The port is directly connected to Shenzhen Metro Line 7 and a new rapid-bus corridor to Futian CBD, giving multinationals based in Qianhai and Houhai sub-30-minute access to Hong Kong’s financial district.
