LOT Polish Airlines operated its inaugural Warsaw–Bangkok flight on 7 October, restoring a direct link that disappeared from the carrier’s network in 2020. The overnight service departs Warsaw Chopin Airport three times a week this autumn and will increase to five weekly rotations from the start of the winter timetable on 26 October. Flights are operated by three-class Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners featuring 24 lie-flat business-class seats. The Thai capital becomes LOT’s seventh long-haul destination in Asia and its first in Southeast Asia, aligning with government efforts to deepen trade ties with the region. Poland’s exports to Thailand—mainly machinery and dairy products—grew 19 % year-on-year in H1 2026, according to the Polish Investment & Trade Agency. Corporate travel managers at several Warsaw-listed manufacturers told Global Mobility News that the nonstop flight will shave at least five hours off travel itineraries that previously required a connection in the Gulf or Frankfurt. LOT is marketing onward connections via its Star Alliance partner THAI Airways, giving passengers access to 12 secondary Thai and Indochina cities on a single ticket. The carrier has also negotiated fifth-freedom cargo rights, allowing Polish exporters to ship high-value pharmaceuticals and e-commerce goods directly to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi hub. For mobility professionals the new route offers practical advantages: Thai work-permit applicants can now schedule mandatory medical checks in Warsaw without an overnight layover, while Polish firms with regional headquarters in Singapore can use the Bangkok service as a same-day feeder to Southeast Asia’s LCC network. LOT says introductory round-trip economy fares start at PLN 2,399, but travel managers should book early—40 % of December seats were sold within 24 hours of the launch announcement. Analysts note that LOT’s Asia growth is underpinned by Poland’s plan for the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) mega-hub outside Warsaw, slated to open in 2032. By proving sustained demand on the Warsaw-Bangkok sector, the airline strengthens its case for additional long-haul slots at CPK and underscores Poland’s emergence as a Central-European transit alternative to Frankfurt and Vienna.
