Strike Tracker’s latest bulletin shows that the SNPL and SPAC pilot unions at Air Corsica have filed a week-long strike notice from Friday 9 to Friday 16 October. Although the carrier accounts for only around 2 % of French domestic capacity, it operates the lion’s share of Paris–Ajaccio and Marseille–Bastia rotations during the busy autumn half-term break. Under France’s minimum-service legislation, the airline must publish a reduced timetable 72 hours before the stoppage. Internally, managers are preparing to cancel up to 60 % of departures and to wet-lease aircraft from Air France Hop to protect essential medical-evacuation and public-service obligation (PSO) routes. The dispute centres on a delayed salary catch-up clause linked to inflation in 2025–26. Pilots are asking for a 5.4 % increase, while management has offered 3 % plus a one-off bonus. Mediation attempted by the Direction Générale de l’Aviation Civile (DGAC) broke down late Saturday. For mainland businesses that rely on quick connections to Corsican industrial sites—particularly in renewable-energy and aerospace sub-contracting—the timing is awkward. The strike overlaps with the week-long Tour de Corse rally, a major corporate hospitality event that typically fills hotel and short-term rental inventory. Travellers booked on Air Corsica are eligible for free re-routing on Air France services or refunds under EU261. Mobility managers should advise staff to switch to early-morning ferries from Toulon or Nice when feasible, or to reserve the limited seats still available on Volotea’s evening flights from Lyon and Nantes.
