With just two days left of a four-week maintenance project, Warsaw Chopin Airport keeps runway 15/33 closed around the clock, leaving carriers dependent on the primary 11/29 strip. NOTAMs A2824/26 and A2835/26 confirm the closure from 28 September 20:00 UTC until 24 October 06:00 UTC, while A2862/26 allows limited daytime departures from runway 15 when conditions permit. LOT and Wizz Air have trimmed buffer times but so far avoided cancelling flights, thanks to autumn’s lighter schedule. However, ground handlers warn that any late-running arrivals could trigger cascading delays because the single active runway must accommodate both landings and take-offs. Business travellers should leave extra time for potential slot changes, especially during the morning wave (06:00–09:00 local) when runway demand peaks. Private-jet operators are being asked to file flight plans at least 12 hours in advance; ad-hoc GA slots are extremely limited. The work is part of a €35 million pavement-rehabilitation programme that also upgrades centre-line lighting and instrument-landing systems. According to the airport authority PPL, the next full-runway closure is not expected before 2032, meaning corporate flyers can look forward to a relatively disruption-free decade once the strip re-opens on 24 October.
