The Directorate-General for Foreigners in France (DGEF) closed the fifth annual Semaine de l’Intégration on 9 October 2026, capping five days of nationwide workshops aimed at helping newly arrived third-country nationals settle and find work. This year’s edition featured more than 870 events—job-dating sessions, language-immersion classes and civic-orientation modules—spread across every region, including the overseas departments. In his closing remarks, Interior-Minister delegate for Citizenship Stéphane Vojetta announced a pilot “Emploi Express” pathway that will match refugees who speak intermediate French (B1) with unfilled positions in logistics and healthcare. Employers will receive a 12-month payroll-tax credit for each contract, while participants gain accelerated access to multi-year residence cards. For corporates the programme offers a new talent-acquisition channel at a time of acute labour shortages. HR directors should monitor prefectural guidance expected later this month, particularly on documentation required to prove language level and employment contract terms. Companies already certified under the “Talent Passport—Salarié en mission” track may secure fast-track processing if they agree to provide additional mentoring. The DGEF also announced that its online portal ANEF will roll out multilingual chatbot assistance by December, reducing in-person prefecture visits for visa validation. Combined, the measures form part of a broader government push to shift the policy narrative from border enforcement to integration outcomes.
