Strike-tracking portal *Is It a Strike?* updated its dashboard at 11 October 18:00 CET confirming that five major French air-traffic unions—SNPL, UNSA-PNC, SNPNC-FO, SNGAF and UNAC—have jointly called a work stoppage from 17 to 21 October. Although the notice is still subject to compulsory mediation, DGAC statistics show that similar actions in May cut French airspace capacity by up to 25 %. The timing is awkward: the NBAA European Business Aviation Convention opens in Paris on 18 October, and several multinational boards are meeting in the capital ahead of third-quarter earnings season. If minimum-service decrees mirror previous walkouts, airlines will prioritise long-haul departures over short-haul feeders, increasing mis-connect risk at CDG and ORY. Corporate travel managers should: 1) secure back-up Eurostar tickets between Paris and London; 2) activate 24/7 duty-of-care messaging for travellers transiting French FIRs, including over-flights; and 3) review force-majeure clauses in hotel blocks, as re-accommodation costs may not be covered. Airlines will publish revised programmes 48 hours before each strike day; automated re-booking scripts in OBTs should be temporarily disabled to allow manual triage of high-priority travellers. Looking ahead, Europe’s Network Manager at Eurocontrol warns that repeated French ATC disputes could jeopardise the continent-wide winter slot hand-back deadline of 31 October, potentially forcing carriers to run "ghost flights" to retain historic rights.
