Berlin Brandenburg Airport releases Winter 2026/27 schedule with 140 destinations
Travellers to and from Germany’s capital region received a major connectivity boost on 20 October as Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) published its Winter 2026/27 timetable. Between 25 October 2026 and 27 March 2027 some 70 airlines will link BER with 140 cities in 50 countries, expanding both short-haul business routes and long-haul links to strategic growth markets. Highlights include airBaltic’s new weekly service to Kuusamo in Finland’s Lapland – a niche leisure route that nonetheless offers connections onward to the Nordic tech corridor – and daily Condor flights to Abu Dhabi under a codeshare with Etihad, giving German passengers same-ticket access to Etihad’s Asian-Australian network. easyJet adds twice-weekly flights to Newcastle and a daily Milan Malpensa rotation, while Eurowings re-launches daily Dubai flights and debuts a four-weekly Rome service plus three weekly Bologna sectors. In the Middle East, Jeddah returns twice weekly and Baghdad enters the map in December, important for Germany’s sizable Iraqi diaspora and corporate reconstruction projects. Low-cost carrier Wizz Air is equally aggressive, starting Vilnius, Suceava and daily Milan services and boosting its Sarajevo presence. Qatar Airways will operate three daily flights to Doha, providing seamless links for executives heading to Asia-Pacific. Overall seat capacity will rise roughly nine percent year-on-year, according to preliminary slot filings, restoring BER to 98 percent of its pre-pandemic winter capacity. For mobility managers the expanded network translates into more non-stop options for project teams, especially those shuttling between German HQs and manufacturing footprints in Central-Eastern Europe or the Gulf. The airport is adjusting Terminal 2 opening hours and advising travellers to arrive 2–2.5 hours before departure; hand-luggage passengers can still clear security in Terminal 1 from 04:00. Companies should update travel policies accordingly and monitor carrier-specific check-in cut-off times. From a tax and immigration standpoint, the new Abu Dhabi and Doha frequencies make it easier to structure 183-day assignments in the UAE or Qatar without double-connections through Frankfurt or Munich, potentially trimming costs and carbon footprints. Meanwhile additional Milan rotations support same-day business trips under the Schengen “90/180” rule, easing compliance for Italian-German commuters.
