IRCC’s July 7 Canadian Experience Class draw keeps Express Entry momentum alive
Less than 24 hours before releasing its latest processing numbers, IRCC held a Canadian Experience Class Express Entry round on July 7 2026 that issued 2,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) with a CRS cut-off of 517. Although half the size of June’s 4,000-ITA CEC round, the modest one-point increase in the threshold suggests the eligible talent pool remains stable despite Canada’s tighter temporary-resident caps this year. The draw is the 11th CEC round of 2026 and brings CEC invitations to roughly 43,250—making it the single largest source of Express Entry invitations this year. IRCC again followed its now-familiar pattern of a PNP draw (July 6) followed by a CEC draw and, as seen on July 9, a category-based draw. This sequencing gives employers, consultants and candidates a predictable window to update profiles and documentation.

For additional support, VisaHQ’s online platform can simplify this documentation phase by guiding CEC candidates through tailored document checklists, tracking validity dates for language tests, medicals and police certificates, and even arranging secure courier services for hard-copy originals. Employers and applicants can begin the process at to streamline submissions ahead of the next draw.

For companies employing foreign workers with Canadian experience, the 517 cut-off is encouraging: candidates hovering just below that score may only need a small CRS boost—such as an updated language test or additional months of work experience—to secure an ITA in the next round. Those further below the threshold will need to explore provincial nomination or French-language points. Applicants invited on July 7 have until early September to submit full e-applications, and most can expect decisions within six months. Businesses seeking to transition foreign workers to permanent status should align contract extensions or intra-company transfers with this timeline to retain critical skills through 2027.
